Amber is sharing with us inexpensive decor ideas she came up with for her bathroom & daughter's room using scrap book paper & black frames.

"MaKe It MoNdAy KiDs" BIRD FEEDER!

With summer here I want to do some "MaKe It MoNdAy" projects that the kids can do!

Lil chick and I made this fun and thrifty bird feeder yesterday out of a 2-liter coke bottle.

Get an empty 2-liter and rinse it out. Cut off label. Cut a hole below the label line big enough for a bird to get into. Then slice a small hole beneath that for your twig for the bird to use as a perch. Hot glue the twig so it stays in place.

Paint the outside of the bottle any color you have. Lil chick picked out green regular old craft paint. We gave it 2 coats. Then we polka dotted it since we love polka dots in bright colors.

I had a wooden flower that I painted yellow and wrote with a sharpie "for the birds" and attached it with hot glue.

We hung our bird feeder with ribbon from our mimosa tree in out front yard. Now we just have to get some birdseed!

This is a fun a quick craft project for the kids. It took about 45 minutes from start to finish. And if you have a grandma or grandpa this would make a cute little summer gift for them.

Helpful Hint: Pour bird seed in through the bird hole.

I found a lot of fun and easy projects on Fave Crafts!

If you have a great idea for a "MaKe It MoNdAy KiDs" email me @ chicksdigcoupons@gmail.com or leave a comment. And if you make this project take a pic and email it I would love to see it!

"MaKe It MoNdAy!"

OK here's the deal I think that swiffer wipes are a little pricey SO...

I just take old washcloths or dishrags, cut them down to size and woo lah it works!

This is fabulous because you can wash the homemade "swiffer" pads, also you're repurposing and reusing and that is always a good thing!

"Make Me Fabulous!"

So what a chick to do but help them out!

Stay tuned for "MaKe It MoNdAy" to see what they become!

"MAKE IT MONDAY" MODGE PODGE PICTURE FRAME!

Here's What You Need:

  • cheap wooden frame (you can get these at Michaels for $1)
  • sponge paint brush
  • Modge Podge
  • scrap paper scraps
  • spray paint or craft paint
  1. Paint your frame.
  2. Cut out your little scraps to be placed on the frame.
  3. After paint has dried paint on Modge Podge and place your first layer of scrap paper scraps on top of where you painted on Modge Podge.
  4. After the first layer has dried add your next layer and let that dry and so on until you have all the layers you want.
  5. Now you paint the entire frame in Modge Podge over all the layers. Do it as thinly as possible so it will dry and not be tacky. Allow to dry!
  6. I did 3 layers of Modge Podge.
This was my first time Modge Podging and I know it will not be my last!

This is a fun and fabulous way to make a personalized frame!

And this chicks is "MakE It MoNdAy!"

"MaKe It MoNdAy!" KITCHEN HERBS!

 "MaKe It MoNdAy!" KITCHEN HERBS!

Herbs can be so pricey at the store so by putting a few pots in your kitchen you can not only have fresh organic herbs at your finger tips that saves you a bundle but you are adding super cute decor to your kitchen and the smell is just amazing!

I bought these clay pots @ Michaels for around $0.80 each. The plants were a bit pricey @ $3.33 each. But believe me well worth it! I will save 20 times that much by having these little babies in my kitchen.

I sprayed the clay pots black since my kitchen is done in black and then used a paint marker from Christmas to label each pot.

So for under $15 you have fresh herbs, cute decor, amazing fragrance and I think this was a fabulous "MaKe It MoNdAy!"

Do you grow your own herbs?

Have any helpful tips?

"MAKE IT MONDAY" LIP BALM!!!

Okay so I just want to tell you how much I love "Make It Monday!" Why? Well because I like to piddle around and try to "make" things and while sometimes it's a nothing more than a failed attempt at me trying to be a little Martha, sometimes it actually works and because of that somedays, I feel like I should wear a cape and fight crime as "the crafty chick". I know I am easily amused...but as I drum my finger together and smile my devilish grin I say to myself "I love when a plan comes together..." And that brings me to today's "Make It Monday!"...wow I got way off track there....

To make the lip balm I used
1/2 cup grated beeswax
1 tsp honey
3 vitamin E capsules
2 tb cocnut oil

Melt all ingredients together in a double boiler on low.

Once melted pour into your jars.
(I had enough to make 11.)

(I used bead making jars from Michaels. I paid $2.50 for 12. These are regular $4.99 but I used my handy dandy 50% off coupon!)

This is the easiest lip balm ever!!!

You could add more to it but I just left it plain jane.

And woo-lah here is the finished product!

I used local honey and beeswax which you can usually get at your farmers market.

This is also a great little gift!

"MAKE IT MONDAY" FOR THE KIDS!

I was actually going to make lip balm today but I had to put that off till next week. (Sorry Heather!)

So today's "MAKE IT MONDAY" is something that really helped our lil chick be more independent and gave her visuals for her tasks for the day. This is really a fun project. I have been doing this with her for over a year and it's worked out so fabulous!

What I used:
Poster board (small sheet of black and white)
Packing tape
Mini clothespins

I change out the day and what her tasks are for the day!

Just an idea as to what you can do to create a kid task chart.

"MAKE IT MONDAY" FABULOUS & FRUGAL TABLE ARRANGEMENT!

This was so easy & fun!

All I took is an old canning jar, a bit of twine, greenery scraps, lima & coffee beans and few sticks from the yard I sprayed white.

Honestly this was super easy and took me just a few minutes to do!

I think it's really natural, organic and super cute for your kitchen table!

It's fun, frugal, fabulous and today's "make it monday!"

TEACHER VALENTINE'S DAY GIFTS!

My lil chick has 3 teachers so it can get a little pricey trying to give teacher appreciation gifts during the holidays. But when you coupon you get such amazing things for free that it basically costs you pennies to make a thoughtful gift that any teacher would appreciate!
